Make Your Own Eleanor Mustang from Gone in 60 Seconds

Forget about owning a Mustang: how about building your own Eleanor Mustang? Now, you can make a 1:8 scale model of the iconic car from the hit 2000 film, Gone in 60 Seconds.  This is the first build-up of the Gone in 60 Seconds Eleanor Mustang, with her one-of-a-kind custom look, as she appears in Denice Shakarian Halicki’s 2000 remake of Gone in 60 Seconds. It stars Nicolas Cage, Angelina Jolie, Christopher Eccleston, and, of course, Eleanor, which is based on H.B. “Toby” Halicki’s 1974 Gone in 60 Seconds star car Eleanor.

The Die-Cast Club’s Eleanor builds up issue by issue, culminating in a magnificent 22.9-inch-long display piece with working lights, sound effects, and moving parts, all screen-accurate and made of the highest-quality die-cast metal, ABS, rubber, and GPPS.

With its striking Pepper Gray paintwork, air scoops in the doors, and distinctive stripe running across the hood, roof, and trunk, the Eleanor Mustang is immediately eye-catching.

On the surface, it boasts plenty of neat minutiae, like the customized “LYN 274” license plate, hood pins, and studded fuel cap. Inside, you’ll find an intricate dashboard incorporating a rev counter, fuel gauge, and Nitrous Oxide System (NOS) switch, while the gearshift is topped with the memorable “Go Baby Go” insignia. The wood-effect steering wheel turns the front tires and the horn blares if you press its center. Its headlights work too, and you can further turn on the taillights by pressing the brake pedal. Or press the accelerator pedal to hear Eleanor’s engine roar.

Yes, this Eleanor Mustang has an engine, based on the Ford 351 cubic inch small-block racing engine from Gone in 60 Seconds. It takes ten issues to build the engine alone, such is its level of detail. Then open the trunk to find the nitro tank, which gives Eleanor an extra kick on screen.

Each shipment – consisting of four kits of parts – comes with a 32-page magazine, featuring step-by-step instructions (with colour-coded 3D illustrations) on assembling your model. Inside, you’ll also find profiles on the other cars featured in the movie, the history of Mustangs, and a deep-dive into Eleanor’s creation and development.

And go behind the scenes on both the 1974 original and 2000 remake of Gone in 60 Seconds. Be privy to production secrets. Discover how those incredible stunts were carried out. And learn about Toby Halicki, the man responsible for the longest car chase scene in cinematic history. Clocking in at around 40 minutes, the chase at the conclusion of the first Gone in 60 Seconds famously wrecked 93 vehicles – but Eleanor made it through, damaged but still driveable and desirable. Denice Halicki enthused: “I believe Eaglemoss Die-Cast Club’s meticulous attention to detail to Eleanor’s “one-of-a-kind” characteristics will be a thrill for fans of Eleanor and fun for everyone who enjoys and love cars… At a time when joy is a wonderful thing to have.”

Of course, the best way to make sure you finish your model is by subscribing – this ensures you get every issue, complete with comprehensive instructions on how to build your Eleanor Mustang. And you’ll receive additional exclusive benefits that you won’t find at newsagents!

The first shipment includes a poster of Eleanor against the Los Angeles skyline at night, and a special binder to keep your magazines in. (You’ll have the option of purchasing two more binders to keep all your magazines safe.) With the third delivery, subscribers receive a tin plate replica of the “LYN 274” Californian license plate; and a heated travel mug with the fifth shipment.  To top it all off, the final shipment will contain a plinth, emblazoned with the Gone in 60 Seconds logo, to display your finished Eleanor Mustang in all her glory.

Not sure. This was their latest build too. Hopefully, the parts that were produced will be offered and sold off to a third party to sell… Have you checked eBay for spares?
