This manufacturer is doing a fantastic job with the releases. They look great .However I am one of those that cant get into resin model collecting. Just the fact that they are so much lighter than a diecast model when holding them is a major turn off for me. Apparently with time they can even distort in shape. I’ve been always a diecast collector.
Yes, resin. Sometimes something is scale is better than nothing at all, especially the examples TM is bringing forward. I doubt many will ever be created in metal.
I’ve never seen a single one of my resins distort over time. Do you have any examples of specific models that are known for this? If you leave them in direct sunlight that could happen – but if you leave a diecast model in direct sunlight then any plastic parts can distort too (the moral being don’t leave your models in direct sunlight).
I always find the obsession with weight a bit weird. I’d prefer to have a more accurate model rather than a heavier one, and especially on race cars resin is far better at capturing the shape of small aerodynamic parts – which would often be plastic even on a diecast.
Some 1:18 ignition models the window seals become undone.. Not totally uncommon ive seen it numerous times. Whether direct sunlight or not, it happens.
