News this week from Minichamps includes models in various scales, most in the 1:43 and 1:87 assortment. BMW fans of 1:87 will appreciate the wealth of models in M2 and M4 trim. Our feature model is the 1:18, diecast metal McLaren F1 GTR – BMW Team Bigazzi, drivers Piquet, Cecotto, and Sullivan – 24H Le Mans 1996. Damn these McLaren’s look sick in all-out race skin!

While I’m pleased that they are reissuing the #39 Team Bigazzi McLaren GTR, I wonder why they aren’t reissuing it’s sister #38 car with it?
And I wonder if Minichamps have improved their painting and tampo decals so the Team Bigazzi models won’t become prone to cracking in the future. Also, since I notice that a new difference with this McLaren GTR is an opening front, that the original release didn’t have, what other differences do these cars have compared to the original releases?
