MotorHelix continues to flex with its latest project: metal and fully opening 1:18 Koenigsegg Jesko and Jesko Twin‑Turbo V8 scale models. Based on the initial images, it’s clear the brand intends to keep pushing for market share by delivering high‑spec pieces that aim to impress collectors and, ideally, hold long‑term value.
That said, the announcement lands with a bit of disappointment on our end. The market has been saturated with Koenigsegg—and Pagani, for that matter—across opening, mid‑range, and high‑end segments. We’ve shared this feedback with MotorHelix and hope it doesn’t fall on deaf ears. With any luck, the next round of announcements will steer toward something genuinely fresh and exciting.

I don’t see this announcement as disappointing at all. Unless I’m mistaken, we don’t currently have any Jesko diecast models with openigns, only resin, sealed versions from GT Spirit and FrontiArt. This looks like a very promising release, with impressive craftsmanship. While AA is still refining the CAD for their Jesko with no prototypes to show, MH could easily capture a significant market share. I just hope they don’t go crazy with pricing.
Totally agree with you. I think this is an exciting release and the quality of details seems to be at a high and welcome range. Sure, we could take a break with all the Pagani’s that lcd and almost real can’t stop cranking out. But, Koenigsegg and Bugatti in this quality level are very welcome. Also Autoart is not a serious player anymore. It takes them 5 years now to get anything done, if even. So Autoart announcing something is not a reason for collectors to take notice or to bash on other releases, because in the current state you can forget about owning those models within a reasonable time frame, and quality has also been better in the past than nowadays.
So keep it up Motorhelix, and don’t give too much weight to the criticism of diecast society.
I just wish the Agera “R” would get this sweet fully opening 1/18 treatment as well
If Koenigsegg is playing ball with MotorHelix, there is likely more to come.
I sure hope so! The Agera “R” is my all time favorite Koenigsegg model and that’s one well overdue. Plus, don’t you just hate it when diecast companies make all kinds of models except the very one you would think they should be making? Licensing aside, definitely makes you wonder why do they always seem to skip over the one car and model permutation you want the most.
Why a disappointment?? Sure, the market is surely saturated with Pagani models from LCD and Almost Real, but Koenigsegg??
I am sure we have not seen a new open Koenigsegg model that is really worth it, like this one, in quite a few years already…
We believe this brand has the legs to become number one for execution and value. We need some fresh, outside-the-box releases. The above manufacturers have been played many times… let’s look at other supercars, and or sports, many to choose from.
Got to disagree with you here. There aren’t that many Jeskos released at the moment, just a couple of sealed resins, and the GT Spirit version is weak enough that it can be ignored. Motor Helix have released a good deal of novel stuff already, this just adds to their range. There are other manufacturers far more worthy of criticism, why take aim at a company who are putting out high quality fully opening models?
DS has supported this brand from the moment it came onto our radar, even recognizing it with DS Model of the Year honours. We ask tough questions and make direct comments—that’s part of an honest conversation. And to be clear, none of this is aimed at any single brand or vehicle segment.
Yeah I realise you’ve long supported them. I just feel the criticism is badly misplaced here. There isn’t a glut of Jesko models on the market (only the crude GT Spirit and the expensive FrontiArt AFAIK) and and this will likely be the first opening version. If you want to ask tough questions, ask why GT Spirit and Otto never get the shape of their models right, or why they’re the same price as fully opening Norev models that are miles better.
On top of that, saying “there are already Koenigseggs on the market, why do we need this?” when it’s the first opening Jesko to hit the market and you’ve spent so much time bemoaning sealed models is inexplicable. From the other comments, you’re in a minority of one in seeing anything to be disappointed by.
No, that’s not what was said. Please read again. Our comments end here.
This is awesome. Possibly beating autoart to market with a more solid, better executed replica. Hopefully providing better options to the overpriced, older koenigsegg models from autoart. I understand that there are many makes and models that we don’t already have but definitely need. However Almost real and LCD for that matter have released Pagani diecasts in versions we didn’t have available in open diecast. And I believe the models announced that have already been attempted (mostly by AA) are being executed with more effort by what to me has become the top 3 in 1/18 scale open diecast… Motorhelix, LCD, and Almost Real (who as far as I understand also makes bbr Ferrari diecast)
I too think this is great news and also disagree with DS comments, o opening jesko on the market so it’s not like we are swamped with them. I have been waiting for motorhelix to do a model I would buy as there alfa looks stunning….. this jesko maybe that purchase.
I welcome Motorhelix making what has the greatest potential to become the best model of the Koenigsegg Jesko. Yes, we have been flooded with models of it, all of them sealed resin, and have been kept waiting, for opening plastic. High time for a manufacturer to master the double-helix-doors and detail of a Koenigsegg in diecast metal.
“High time for a manufacturer to master the double-helix-doors and detail of a Koenigsegg in diecast metal.”
Interesting. Time will tell…
I almost forgot that LCD models has a 1/18 scale koenigsegg in the works.
Totalmente de acuerdo, y ya que estamos, para cuando un regera totalmente abierto de motorhelix, Por favor?
Not sure what the plans are for the Koenigsegg badge. These models are complex and do require more investment. Our guess, they will see the results of the Jesko and decide for there.
Any word on which colors they will release?
I would sell my Frontiart resins for this;)
I think many will, LOL.
