News from GT Spirit this morning are a couple of new additions for January. The first in the 1:18 Gemballa MIG-U1, in fantasy colour of Matt Red. Only 500 pieces of this monster will be issued. The second, and it 1:12 scale is the stunning Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster in Red/Tan. Only 999 pieces of this beauty will be issued.
About the Mercedes-Benz 300SL… “The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL (W198), also called the butterfly due to the way its doors opened, was introduced to the public in 1954. It very quickly became a household name, and has since kept that fame. Considered by many to be one of the most beautiful cars of all time worldwide, the German car is an absolute masterpiece. This is partly due to Max Hoffmann, an American car salesman, who convinced Mercedes to produce a road version of the W194, going so far as to pay upfront for 1000 cars.”

The 1:12th red Mercedes 300SL Roadster has already been available for quite awhile as a special “Dealer Edition” . Not so new. The red version was supposed to be more limited than their other editions, but looks like something may have now changed.
