Nuremberg International Toy Fair 2024 (UPDATE)

** UPDATE ** Even though AUTOart and CMC did not attend, we’ve layered in some recent images from both brands.  Enjoy!

The 2024 Nuremberg International Toy Fair is just around the corner, set to run from Tuesday, January 30, 2024, through Saturday, February 3, 2024. Excitement is building, but there’s been a bit of a mixed bag in the lead-up.

Bburago and Maisto gave us a peek at their 2024 catalogues, but the initial impressions suggest it might not be anything groundbreaking. Interestingly, AUTOart seems to be missing in action this time around, raising eyebrows about what might be going on behind the scenes, a downshift in their momentum since mid-2023, prompting questions about any hiccups they might be facing.

Despite these questions, the overall vibe for the 2024 Nuremberg International Toy Fair remains promising. Even with a couple of key players taking a step back, the event is still expected to be a hub of creativity… It’s a place where the toy industry comes together to showcase the latest and greatest, and while some might be missing, the show must go on.

  1. Karsten says:

German evening news just reported: This year´s toy fair clearly aimed at adults, including models. The above poster with an adult showing childish joy is adequate. Seems the hobby becomes main stream,

  2. Karsten says:

By the way, who supplies the pics?

    • MRM says:

All the pictures are curtesy of Medellbau Oswald user on Facebook and he should be given the credit for it!

      • DS Team says:

They are not ALL from one source, and credit is given. Again, reading what you what to read. This message was left here otherwise it would have been deleted… PLEASE GET THE MESSAGE, WE, AS IN THE IMMEDIATE TEAM, DO NOT WANT YOU HERE.

      • Karsten says:

Even if the same photos were published elsewhere (and I see obvious differences between the photos here and those published on Modellbau Oswald´s FB), who says DS Team has not sought approval to use the photos used? Only vendors and press, including DS sponsors, have access to the fair. Name the original photographers and prove that their photos have been used here without permission of face legal prosecution for making false allegations.

  3. HENRY CHEN says:

Did I just see a 2023 Ford Mustang GTD? I hope it is 1:18.

  4. Vitaliy D says:

Will be interesting to see more photos and details about McLaren F1 by LCD Models in 1:18. So far I have an impression it is almost a complete copy of the AutoArt’s signature model which will lead to the same flows: the interior from hard plastic (I still hope it will be something similar to the great interior of LCD’s McLaren 600 LT), not very detailed engine (I still hope it will be very detailed, similarly to LCD’s Supra A80), and usage of fragile plastic around the telescopic prop of the engine hood (I still hope LCD will use _metal_ parts around the prop. I already sold one 1:18 McLaren F1 by AutoArt where the plastic part near the prop became completely broken, and now I have another example where the same plastic part has a factory crack when a metal screw was screwed into a plastic part, but at least it is not broken yet).

    • Matrix Y says:

Even if the model itself isn’t the most detailed released by LCD, the price is the biggest win in my book, when compared to the crazy asking price of AA McLaren F1 nowadays.

  5. Gor says:

Will foto from Norev be published?!?

  6. Nordschleife says:

    Is CMC not present?

  7. Patrick says:

Any infos about the release date of the LCD Pagani Huayra R?

  8. Patrick Timmermans says:

    No AUTOart?

  9. Rasmus says:

Do I see a Spark 1/12 Ferrari LM winner 2023?

  10. renato says:

I seems that all big scale and all race modern cars. For who collect 1/43, they will be a bit disappointed

  11. Ozan says:

What is the scale of norev m3 csl? Have you seen any other photos?

  12. Mike Wiseman says:

I’m kinda interested in the that Eligor Eleanor… the name sounds weird out loud..lol. I’ve never looked into anything from Eligor, but I’ve always wanted a high end ford gt500 Eleanor. Something just slightly above what’s been available. The hinges on the hood and the side windows make their effort look promising…🤞

    • Vitaliy D says:

And Aston Martin DB5 by Eligor looks pretty interesting
By the way, in China there is 1:18 Aston Martin DB5 by Xiaoguang Model, that looks very promising, it even has removable wheels. But the trunk hinges are absolute disaster that literally ruin the entire model. I don’t understand why on Eartth they have made it like that. Probably the Eligor’s DB5 is based on that, but thanks God it has normal trunk hinges.

      • Mike Wiseman says:

Hmm.. had never heard of that brand before. From what I can find they seem to like producing slightly older, American luxury land yachts…lol. Like Cadillacs and Lincolns.

  13. AJ says:

Auto Word’s showcase is really embarrassing.. they came to display us some 20-30 year old models in new colors *yawn*

  14. Chuck N says:

Any update on the LCD McLaren F1 release date?

  15. Razorblade says:

There is a mistake on the W123 german Fire dept. (white and red model) from Norev. On the door it’s written “BerFufsfeuerwehr” which is wrong, it should be “Berufsfeuerwehr”. I hope Norev fixes this! I used to write them some time ago for mistakes on some of their models, but they ignored me. I hope someone sees this, because it will be hilarious, especially with the german collectors. I suspect it will be limited edition like their W123 Polizei and Taxi.

    • ATEOTD says:

That’s hilarious. It’s our hobby’s equivalent of “error cards” in sports trading cards.

  16. Ipoulo_kounoupi says:

Hello after a long time, Karsen I spend a lot of money at this hobby and from what I understood nothing near of your badget I wonder how much you spend???? Just wonder…. Now to the point the best thing for me is the brand name LCD they do very good job and the asking price if far less than the other opponents. I collect mainly super-hyper cars. If the companies read: I and most of us the collectors want opening parts, doors, hood etc
