The Ferrari 296 GTB Assetto Fiorano represents a significant milestone for Ferrari as it introduces a new era of V6 hybrid technology while still maintaining the brand’s renowned driving dynamics. The car’s heart is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that, combined with an electric motor, produces a remarkable 819 horsepower and 546 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain allows the 296 GTB to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.9 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 205 mph.

The Assetto Fiorano package specifically caters to enthusiasts who seek the ultimate track-focused experience. It includes weight-saving measures such as extensive use of carbon fiber for the door panels and interior trim, a Lexan rear window, and lightweight titanium exhausts, shaving off significant pounds from the car’s overall weight. The package also includes adjustable Multimatic shock absorbers derived from Ferrari’s racing division, enhancing the car’s handling and cornering capabilities.

Aerodynamics play a crucial role in the 296 GTB’s design, featuring a prominent rear diffuser and an active rear spoiler that generates substantial downforce for improved stability at high speeds. The exterior design is both aggressive and elegant, characterized by its sharp lines, sculpted sides, and a sleek, low-slung profile that pays homage to classic Ferrari styling while embracing modern aesthetics.

Inside, the 296 GTB offers a driver-centric cockpit equipped with the latest technology, including a digital instrument cluster, an advanced infotainment system, and a steering wheel that incorporates touch-sensitive controls. The overall experience is a seamless blend of luxury, comfort, and performance, making the Ferrari 296 GTB Assetto Fiorano a remarkable supercar that embodies the future of Ferrari’s engineering prowess.

In the ever-evolving world of Ferrari scale models, finding a balance between quality and value has become increasingly challenging. Once again, I’ve found myself leaning towards BBR’s resin and sealed efforts, as they continue to dominate the high-end segment. While some might suggest giving Bburago a shot, their models, though commendable, just don’t quite match up to the intricate details and craftsmanship of the old Hot Wheels Elite pieces.

BBR has certainly hit another home run with their latest rendition of the Ferrari 296 GTB Assetto Fiorano. Finished in a striking red with silver decals, this model captures the essence of Ferrari’s latest mid-engined hybrid sports car with finesse. The fit and finish of this piece are top-notch, earning an A+ in my book. The use of perforated grilles, high-quality paint, and a meticulously detailed interior are standout features that highlight BBR’s commitment to excellence.

However, the inevitable question arises: Is the premium price tag of a BBR model truly justified? For many, the answer might be a resounding no. Yet, as a collector who has reached a comfortable place with my collection, without the pressing need to chase after elusive holy grails, there’s a certain freedom in indulging in a premium piece now and then. Still, it would be a dream come true to see something of this calibre priced in line with AUTOart, complete with full opening features.

Until then, I’ll enjoy this latest addition, appreciating the craftsmanship and attention to detail that BBR consistently delivers. And for those of you contemplating a splurge, take a moment to savour the photos and decide for yourself if this beauty is worth making a part of your collection.  Enjoy the pics!

Indeed the attention to detail is second to none on that BBR. Unfortunately for me they could not deliver a version in my desired spec; rosso corsa with yellow calipers, silver wheels and tan interior. So I went with MR Models exceptionally. Great execution but I still have a personal preference for BBR models.

Really wished they made a opening diecast version of this since the only other option is Bburago and not even in Signature version

It may be on the works, that’s one of the challenges with BBR, they are like a box of cholates! I’ve given Bburago a fair changes, and I do like the their SP1, however, their execution usually falls short on expectations.
