PHOTO GALLERY: Solido Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm

Encouraged by Luk´s review a year ago (thank you!), I have recently obtained this remarkable effort by Solido in red. However, mine had paint issues on the hood and the stitching decals on the interior were misapplied or partially missing (compare for pictures with white indicators). Modelissimo offered me a full refund on me returning the model (as they are legally obliged to), including what I paid for returning it, but did not want to send a replacement. In their opinion, nothing better can be expected of a Solido budget model and felt unable to provide an issue-free specimen. We don´t agree! Solido probably won´t, and CK Modelcars didn´t either: They sent me the model posing for my camera here, inspecting it first and promising to send a replacement if I still found any issues. Enjoy the pictures (and customer service)!

To find perfect in these mass-produced models is a challenge, though based on what the team has seen over the years Solido isn’t too bad. And the end of the day, if one isn’t happy with the purchase, definitely return it! Thank you for the photos sir!

No model is ever perfect, from Solido to Autoart, you can always find some tiny imperfections. You can live with it or send it back.

Personally i would be more concerned about the driver door painted in a darker shade of red, it’s pretty visible…

Maybe Im not alone, but I literally celebrating any perfect model from Solido for desired cars. These cars are great for 30 euros, but only If you can live with some imperfections.

It reminded me times when I was buying Alfa Romeo 8C by 1/24 Cararama :) I had visited 3 toy stores in different parts of the city until I find an example that was accurate enough.

  5. Sam says:

That looks really bad. I would even pass it by at 5 euros.

Unfair. Soldio plays with Bburago, opening price point. Based on what is presented this allows many to get into the hobby and remain in the hobby. Not everyone want to dish $300 per model.
