Production Images AUTOart Koenigsegg Regera – Horizon Blue

Wow, this one looks rich and delicious, a fully accessible 1:18 Koenigsegg Regera in Horizon Blue from AUTOart does look stellar.  The team is presenting officially images of their production model.  The Regera also features a removable roof with a functional rear spoiler.  The first colour will roll into stores in August 2020.

nice, but I’m sure its composite, wish autocrat would go back producing die cast

  2. Eric says:

I really don’t mind composite models, and considering alot of the high end cars are not made of metal anymore, the composite is more realistic anyways!

    • DS Team says:

Our sediments exactly. If the model performs metal or composite should not matter. This is the BEST scale replica of the car to date in terms of overall execution vs. price.

      • Atalante says:

Yep, Think about it who would buy a 1:1 Koenigsegg with body panels and chassis made of 36mm thick cast metal? 0-60 in something like 50 sec.? LOL

    • Marcel171281 says:

Spot on. I even want to go one step futher, I started to prefer the composite models over the die-cast couterparts. I can’t see any drawbacks, and given the amount of die-cast models starting to develope paint rash problems, I have the composite models anytime.

Ow, and before someone starts about wieght, I don’t think that has any relevance and nothing to do with quality.

You know, I put AutoArt 1:18 Pagani Huayra (die-cast) and AutoArt 1:18 Koenigsegg One:1 (composite) side by side and compared them.
In short, the exterior of the composite model does look nice, except for this funny grooved plastic that tries to imitate carbon on the wheels, spoilers and wing – similarly as it had been done on 1:43 Kyosho models about 10 years ago (!). Everywhere else: the interior, dashboard, engine, suspension, and even in door gaps (!) – the composite model fails. The interior looks and feels like plastic and is rather stingy on details. The same regarding the engine and suspension – it looks rather like a plastic parody on the die-cast one. Actually, the first look on the engine and suspension of the composite model made me immediately want to sell this one.
As for the materials and their relation to reality… If you own a hypercar with a price of $1M+ with carbon panels, do you expect that its doors or its bonnet can unexpectedly become broken when you open them??? But this is exactly what you can expect from plastic doors and bonnet of a scale model where metal screws were screwed directly into plastic…

As for this exact 1:18 Regera, I see improvements over the 1:18 One:1 everywhere. More realistic carbon imitation, more realistic and nice coloured interior, more realistic and nice coloured engine & suspension. If the 1:18 One:1 looked like this 1:18 Regera, I think I would not be so sceptical about the composite line.

    Great colors. Looks fantastic.

  4. Roger Lodge says:

Might be the first Koenigsegg model in my collection. The aesthetic of multiple colored panels and random stripes on most of their cars is a bunch much IMO, but finally a car with a solid color, and a beautiful one at that. It makes the car look elegant rather than like an athletic shoe.

  5. Aaron says:

I wish they would give us the Agera R with opening parts as well. And with turbine wheel rims

  6. Veneno says:

Been waiting for this one for quite sometime now and it is looking good!

  7. Darius Kri says:

The carbon “plate” above the engine head is not pad-printed, but the effect is created with the relief of the plastic. A bad step back from the Agera. AUTOart has now introduced a savings policy and those who lose are just us collectors!

  8. DARIUS KRI says:

    @DS TEAM
I will read it with pleasure.
