Our friends at Looksmart sent us a sample of their new 1:43 model, the Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 Blancpain Super Trofeo 2016 Safety car.  It is a limited edition piece of 499.  The car was commissioned as a tribute to the MR Collection/Looksmart partnership with Lamborghini. The Huracan LP 610-4 also has a special retail, around 80 Euro or roughly $120CND.  So if you’re on the fence for a Looksmart 1:43 scale piece, this might be the perfect time to jump on the bandwagon.

The model itself comes in the typical Looksmart packaging, you are ensured a safe and damage free model while having all the luxury of a quality display.

From the exterior view the striking livery is present at all angles.  The application of decals is completed well, and flows nicely with the lines of the Huracan.  Body-lines are true to the original even at this scale. The icing on the cake, so to speak, is the top and centre safety lights.  The light is executed well and doesn’t offset the beauty of the Huracan in the slightest.

Moving to the front, the cooling grilles are all solid plastic bits, this might be due to the small scale.  Headlight detail and depth is present even at this size, impressive.

The rear is much like the front.  Solid pieces for grilles once again.  The ‘Safely Car’ decal and the quad chrome tips take the prize as the predominant elements for sure.  There is no access to the motor, as the Looksmart line-up for the most part is created in resin with closed-body design.

The wheels are executed well featuring the typical Lamborghini Huracan option wheel.  Depth is added in the form of well crafted rotors and caliper, the red calipers definitely add that perfect splash of colour to a mostly white exterior.

The interior for the most part is all-black.  Various elements of the interior blue-print have the added colour of silver, red for dash, centre console, and doors cards.  Each area is crafted well.  I did notice the absence of fabric seat-belts and any additional safety gear.

For the most part the 1:43 Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 Blancpain Super Trofeo 2016 Safety car is a solid effort.  The model excels well at all levels and with the addition of livery could be great talking piece with shelf presence. Getting your feet wet with your first Looksmart piece won’t break the bank either, specially priced at less than 80 Euros is a bargain for the Looksmart exclusivity.  The hardest thing might be finding one.  Enjoy the pics!
