Solido New Deliveries July

We have new deliveries to share from Solido this month. When first announced the pair of French classic Bugatti’s made a splash, well they are now available to add to your collection.  Brand new tooling brings the 1:18 Bugatti Atlantic in Black and Blue.  Note the elegant wire wheels on the Black version.  Each can be had for less than 45 Euro.  Each features diecast metal exterior and access to the interior.  Not too shabby at all.  We need to mention the mix of classic rally cars, three in total.  Enjoy!

They have the wheel covers on the wrong Bugatti! Ralph Lauren’s updating on the original blue Bugatti put wheel covers on. The original blue Pope Bugatti had wire wheels, and blue ones at that.
Otherwise, the models aren’t too bad at all for the price.

I can’t understand why Solido chose to produce another Stratos. The SunStar is by no means a CMC, although it is acceptable for the price. And it is ‘all opening’. The Fiat 131 is a better choice of subject, now that Kyosho are no longer producing their excellent version. However, the images shown here of the 131 make it rather odd looking, if it were 1/43rd scale I think it would be OK at less than €20. Hopefully the fault lies with the photography.

The Bug looks decent enough for shelf display me think. This is going straight onto my wishlist. Would they consider making a road going version of the Stratos?

Looking in the archives shows that Solido produced a half decent – opening – Stratos in the past. They did produce a ‘road’ version, but it’s not accurate because of the wide rear track and wheel arches. It would SEEM they have riveted everything closed and simplified the running gear. :>(

That Bugatti is very impressive for the price. Hopefully they will realise the mistake and make the wheel covers availible for the black edition and optional on the blue?

Additionally, on the blue Bugatti, the seats were not blue. They were tan.
      Some pretty blatant errors!
