This well before our collection passion started, and I’m sure many others too there was Solido 100 Series. If you haven’t heard the news, the Solido team is reviving the classic Series 100 brand with a select number of new models, about ten examples to arrive soon (more details on the initial model in the press release below). The Series 100 focuses on the early years of scale model collecting, simple, true diecast miniatures if you choose. The origin of the brand started in the early 1930s, the latest edition will be true to form. A complete website will go live this September, called Solido Club. It will allow collectors to purchase models via subscription of sorts. Multiple templates will be made available, each tailored to suit. And finally, pricing for individual pieces is quoted at 24.95 Euro. Read the official press release below to learn more.
“Josselin, the 26th June 2019: It was in 1932 that the Solido brand saw the light of day. Since its creation, it has not stopped making dreams come true for children and adults alike through its reproduction of scale model cars. Numerous stages have marked its history, such as the start of the Solido Club in 1987. This club, unfortunately, came to an end in 1991, only to return in 2001 until 2005. At the time, the Solido club allowed access to certain privileges, such as obtaining exclusive models or visiting the factory in Oulins. Today, it is the company Z Models Distribution, based in Josselin in the heart of Brittany, that has taken over the brand since 2015 and wishes to revive the Solido Club. The most nostalgic of collectors, or simply the curious, can become a member of the Solido Club from September 2019. But what are the advantages? Behind the Solido Club hides the re-release of the legendary Series 100, that’s right! Launched in 1957, it announced the arrival of the 1:43 scale in the French brands’ catalogue. Since then, its success has been undeniable with two models selling over one million copies each. This series is highly sought after by collectors and has gained considerably in value via sales through private websites. Nearly 40 after the collection was stopped, the news of its big comeback has everyone talking.
In September 2019, and even from now for a pre-inscription, collectors have the possibility to join the Solido Club via the internet site www.club-solido.com which allows them access to subscribe to the re-release of the Series 100. The members will have the pleasure of receiving a model per month as well as surprise gifts. The model will be sold for 24.95€, excluding the transport cost. Four types of subscription will be available: a monthly subscription, a tri-monthly subscription, one for six months and even one for 12 months.
The first list of models has already been unveiled. To our great delight, you can discover a Peugeot 403 Cabriolet, Citroen Ami 6 hatchback, NSU Prinz IV, Alfa Romeo 2600, Simca Océane, Fiat Abarth 100, Ford Thunderbird, Aston Martin D85 Vantage, Fiat 2300S as well as a Lancia Flaminia.
The information concerning the different subscription costs, the official release date as well as the first model photos will be released shortly. To follow the latest Solido Club news and the re-launch of the series 100, you can subscribe to the dedicated newsletter at https://www.club-solido.com/ and follow its Facebook page.”
