DiecastSociety.com 2017 Model of the Year voting poll is now open!  Out of an large array of models from the various brands, we have fifteen lovely candidates making the final list.  This year marks the first year we have fifteen different brands vying for the title.  We opened the voting a few hours ago and 200+ votes are already in.  Thank you all!

Please note this isn’t a popularity contest or the winner goes to the most expensive model.  If 2016 was any indication, the opening price print Bburago (Signature) Ferrari 488 GTB took the crown.  Vote for the model you were most passionate about.  Did it fill a hole in your collection?  Was the overall execution outstanding for the price?  There are so many variable here, for each of us it is something different.

Please take a second or too to cast your vote below.  Our team will announce the winner in early 2018.  Good luck to all!

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

This voting would seem to indicate “peoples’ favourite”, rather than the best or most significant model of the year.

Unfortunately what one considers the “best” or “most significant” doesn’t always mean the same to all. We personally voted for the AUTOCRAFT – W Motors Lykan HyperSport – not a lot of negative here!

True, but BBR/MR/CMC do what they always do, nothing remarkable here. And we’ve seen a gazillion versions of the Aventador, so we’re like: not again! But it will most likely come in second or third. CMC will likely win hands down (again) and I can only hope that Almost real, the only true surprise this year, can break the tradition.

That poll is pointless… people not collect cars in general.. there are different categories, a real poll must to ask about best Die-Cast, best Resin, best shell, best opening car, best price ranges, etc…

Obviously a 1:8 Amalgam will be better than a 1:43 minichamps?.. so pointless, more money=more detail,

Thats like said a Guy with money that spend money on Bburagos is stupid.. when no..

    • DS Team says:

LOL, more money and more detail doesn’t equal a better model; 2016 results proved that! We could layer this polling too a finite level and it still wouldn’t satisfy all. We taken what we believe along with collector feedback too to be a great group of models for 2017.

    Almost Real

I’m really glad to see the Almost Real Land Rover at the top of the list as its a great value model with fantastic finish and detail for the price. And its a model I would have in my collection!
The CMC Talbot-Lago a stunning piece no doubt but its something the average collectors could not easily afford and in my opinion not a realistic contender for best model of the year.
To each their own I guess..
