** UPDATE ** A new series of official images from AUTOart focus on all the 007 gadgets and gizmos found on the Aston Martin DB5, and there are many! Enjoy!!
It would not be fitting if AUTOart did not action a James Bond car with the recent clip of new colours for their 1:18 composite and opening Aston Martin DB5. As we know the brand has released some true classic movie-themed examples over the years. This is the “Goldfinger” in Silver. Delivery is noted as Q4 2024.

This is indeed a slice of Heaven. And appears to be a vast improvement in details from the last time they issued this car. What could be better?
If Autoart also did the Aston Martins from “The Living Daylights” & “Die Another Day” in the same way w/opening parts.
A super sweet bonus would be for Autoart to do all of Aston Martin’s F1 Cars from 2021 to present in 1/18. Especially since they did Lotus & Mclaren already.
Autoart, if you are reading this, please at least do, in the future, in fully opening 1/18, the Aston Martin Valkyrie Le Mans Hypercar. Thank you!
Care to explain how this one ‘appears to be a vast improvement in details from the last time they issued this car’? I have the last release which I bought probably 20 years ago when it came out, and had never taken it out of the box to look at its details…
The last time Autoart did the DB5 w/weapons, the tail light arrangement was all wrong. This time it’s accurately correct. The inside of the boot or trunk is different as well. The “GB” decal is absent in the previous release. This time it’s there. It also looks like the wheels are more detailed.
This is the composite version of the DB5, the last true DB5 release was close to ten years ago but it was the regular silver version. They added all the features from that one with the Goldfinger gadgets. THe original model from 20 years ago had the hinge doors and hood, this one features the swivel that opens realistic, aside from the glass on the passenger and driver, the chrome accents all over the interior, the rims and grille are silver metallic but not chrome. What I see is a masterpiece, but they used this mold already from the version released last decade.
The first one weighed like 2 pounds easily, this composite one should feel lightweight.
However I agree, I see as a positive step forward with them having the bond license again and I would love for them to reissue the older vehicles, and the other ones from the newer movies if all possible!
They also got the overall shape of the car much closer this time around: the roofline on the early 2000s model was way too low, and the headlights weren’t quite right, among a couple of other body shape issues.
Don’t get me wrong, the old Autoart DB5 from 20 years ago is still better than most of the other DB5s made by other manufacturers since, but this new one looks about as close to the real car as you can get.
It’ll be interesting putting the old and new side by side, and then the differences will be impossible to miss.
…don’t forget the road-legal Valkyrie. :)
Some accuracy improvements: Tire slashers extend further, bullet screen raises higher, GB decal on back, no DB5 badges near bottom front of doors (Real Goldfinger car didn’t have them) detailed trunk interior with oil and water tanks and smoke generator. One thing I don’t know is does this new AA DB5 have a working ejector seat? I’d say no based on the photos but I certainly hope it does!
Alas, the AA people have responded to me. The ejector seat is held in magnetically and can be removed. It doesn’t actually eject.

How many car produced?
Not sure if this model is limited. Initial production run likely 3000 units. IF the model sells well it will find itself in production again. The question is, when?
