I so would like to see the face of one of those people that looks at such a model and thinks “seems like a pretty good deal to me. Here, take my money”. Think about your collection, and how much you spent on it, would that be enough to buy this one larger model with 2 opening doors?
    I find this ridiculous :D

You think these models would be made if there was no market for them? Pretty sure people intressed in Amalgam models have pretty good 1:1 collections as well, it is all relative.

Ow and to answer your question (and I collect only 1:18’s): Yes and more than one as well.

  2. MLB says:

Yes, Marcel is correct… There IS a market for them. That said, Amalgam models are not as good as advertised, there are various problems, and for the price point… they are overproduced and overpriced.

    • Giorgio262 says:

That very fact that Amalgam still exists is of course proof of the fact that there is a market for the price point of their range of models. But I wonder what kind of people they are. Looking at this model I don’t feel like I’m in the presence of something worth 12000 $. It’s big but it’s quite featureless. Think about the amount of amazing models you could rather have for that kind of money.

At this price, I would expect it to have working lights and playable engine sound controlled via phone app !

They do have models with working interior/exterior lighting. But yea, this particular model not having that feature nor opening trunk and engine compartments at that price is insane.
