AUTOart released new photos of upcoming November releases. The first is the gorgeous Mercedes-Benz S600 Maybach SWB in White. We love the exterior styling of this car and cool chrome wheels. The Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 isn’t a surprise, but the colour sure is. The Red exterior definitely doesn’t flow with dark accent bits, one word, fugly! Both models are 1:18 and come from AUTOart’s composite series.

Screw this “composite” crap. I’m not paying AutoArt prices for plastic models.
I guess this hobby is nearing its end.
Yep, if that Maybach was diecast, I’d be placing an order this very minute.
Model prices go up and up can’t do anything about it. Decide what your limit is and get over it. Like it or lump it. Composite models mean quicker model releases and lower prices. My maybach mercedes would of bin 250.00 instead of 200.00 dollars at least, in diecast form, its huge. 6 wheel g-wagon mercedes huge, in metal maybe 300..00 dollars, instead of 250.00. I’ve forgotten the price exactly.
I agree, I have bought the Jaguar F Type and I am pretty disappointed, particularly with its interieror. And nobody seeems to care to write a review either.
In contrast, it´s just amazing how the Schuco Porsche Targa 1973 fares … at a much lower price! So maybe AUTOart has seen its best days (like Minichamps), but Schuco and others are clearly on the rise.
Having the 6X6 I can’t even begin to tell you how cheap it feels. Yes this has me looking for older AA and MC cars on eBay. The use of plastic makes me want to step away from collecting. Let’s hope for a future return to qualit materials and detail.
I will probably get the black one!
Hi, DS Team. The AutoArt 1:18 Mercedes-Maybach S600 looks nice, but do you have any idea if AutoArt will also make the 1:18 Mercedes-Maybach Pullman? If so, in what colors? Thanks.
Geez. I was excited for the Maybach but that paint looks beyond lifeless in what is supposed to be the promo shots. I sure as heck will not waste 250+ on something that turns an elegant vehicle into a plastic scramble of parts. Finally Autoart uses a gloss color and the G63 looks horrid, not just in paint choice but in how it presents itself as well. it’s clear the paint on composites gets lost and just becomes a layer on an otherwise beautiful car. Should be getting my Silver one this week in the mail and hoping it doesn’t look like this crap. Get it together Autoart. I’ve enjoyed my new Kyosho Bentleys leaps and bounds over this utter garbage.
Agreed
When it will be released ??
Got my silver 6×6 in and I can’t complain. The model is huge, but incredibly lightweight (we all know why). I wish for something like that maybe the composite makes sense, but making all theirs out of it is just cheap. I have the Maybach 57 original and wanted a new one but not sure if it’s worth it. Funny how prices on eBay and other sites are way under what Autoart is pushing theirs for. Hopefully people are speaking with their wallets.
Composite is the future for model cars Realize it, Get use to it..With diecast we’d be paying even higher prices and much fewer models.
