TrueScale Miniatures has provided us with a first look at their race, 1:18 Mazda RX-7 GTO IMSA #62 Mazdaspeed 201. Based on the initial images the model looks bad ass! Rear fueling apparatus and interior detail are quite good too. A shame this piece is sealed. Please contact TrueScale Miniatures for availability.

Engine detail ?………a typo maybe ?…………….interior detail is visible, but nothing shown about the engine. Either way, this will be a nice addition of a long neglected racer…………
What I would REALLY like to see them branch into are the IMSA GTP cars of the late 80’s, early 90’s……….no one has touched these EVER in 1/18th……….
Yes typo ;)
Thanks.
GMP does, long time ago, at least with one or two Mustangs and off course Minichamps with AUDI 90, have them both, THANK YOU ! :-)
And this is a must have off course…
Sorry, you wrote GTP, not GTO, my mistake…but there are also some 962 and Jag at least in 1:18. Have them both also ;-)
Yep, but still not the GTP class cars………..no one seems to have wanted to model these in 1/18. Monogram did I think 2 versions of the GTP Mustang as a 1/24th plastic kit, and that is all I[‘m aware of in that class.
Shame that they didn’t get this one right: the name Jeremy Barnes on the roof is completely wrong. Jeremy Barnes was Mazda’s media director who drove the car in a Mazda event in 2013. He was not an IMSA driver in the early 90s when this car was racing. The fact that there are no tire decals is also disappointing as are several other misses that make this a little generic.
