Kyosho New 2021 “Diecast” Releases

More on the 2021 newness campaign, Kyosho has unveiled some of their new models expected this year.  We unveiled the 1:18 Jaguar E Type last month in early pre-production form, today the team provides us with quality images.  What do you think?  More classic British is coming in the form of the new tooling for their example of 1:18 Austin Healey Sprite – we definitely like the results here.  Four colours are scheduled for production, each is noted below with delivery scheduled for June 2021.

Toyota is back in the mix with the all-new 1:18 Toyota Land Cruiser 40 Pickup.  Two colours will be offered Red and Beige.  This example is due June 2021. And finally, there are two new colours in the works for their successful 1:18 Toyota Land Cruiser 60.  Red and White will arrive in July 2021

thumbs up for kyosho, same price with auto art but better quality and DIECAST not composite , kyosho stands for quality

      Not sure about quality part.
Stratos from them I had, had plastic bonnet and “froot” which was cracking with time,
Pantera from them arrived with parts falling apart and generally not good quality build. And paint chipping around headlights, because they were moving up/down during the transportation.
Only GTB4 Daytona is something from them I’m really satisfied with.

Will get the bugeye Sprite tho, looks lovely.
I got a few new composite models from AA, and especially with Jag E-Type Lightweight, i’m very satisfied with it’s quality. Yes it’s composite but it’s good all rounder.

I understand that cars like the E-Type and Land Cruiser have their own home markets, but is it too much to ask for LHD variants too?

    • Sac says:

Looool, nice ques…i would prefer an LHD myself..

    • Zack says:

Agreed- I know there are a few manufacturers making both LHD and RHD models now, is Kyosho one of them? I’m not even a huge Land Cruiser guy but dang those LC pickups look good. If they would come out with an LHD version in either of those colors I’d pick one up for sure. :)

The Jag in its current state with this eye sore dog leg hinges on the hatch door is no match for AAs 3.8 Series 1. Hope they have another few rounds of improving. Both Land Cruiser 40 and 60 seem to come from another developer / factory team. Nice little scale hinges. Perhaps not AR level but a solid effort.

  4. Albert says:

I appreciate Kyosho’s attempt to return to the diecast market, but i must admit i couldn’t be less interested in their choice of models.

Also the Jaguar E-Type seems like a decent attempt, but from the photos i can tell it’s ages away from the Autoart model. Those dog leg hinges and the engine detail can’t compete at all.
