REVIEW: Hot Wheels Elite Ferrari 458 Italia Spider

Expectations were high for the 458 Italia Spider after the release of the 458 Coupe back in early 2011. Some considered the Coupe version the model of the year based on execution and value at the price point. Well, I’m happy to say the Hot Wheels team did not disappoint once again.

The shutlines lines are very tight, the doors could use a little fine-tuning though, but overall well done. The paint is beautiful, the traditional Ferrari red is a must-have for me and many other collectors. Engine detail is okay, I did find opening the hatch a bit difficult to open and the hinge work In my opinion is too thick and dog leg-like. Overall at this price, $100 or less the model puts others at higher retails to shame. Enjoy the pics!

Just wondering are the rear grilles perforated? I am trying to decide between the old gallardo superleggera in grey by autoart, this or the Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster by norev. A highlight for me as a diecast collector is perforated grilles so I was hoping this model would have them. Thanks!!!
