BBR New “Open” Ferrari 488 Pista

** UPDATE ** BBR officially commented on this release today.  The model is in fact resin with opening parts.  Now is this in fact resin or a form of composite a la AUTOart. Not sure.  We added more photos for you to enjoy.

BBR leaked some photos of their next vision in 360-access scale replica, we present the Ferrari 488 Pista in 1:18 scale.  There have been rumours of new resin series with opening bits to come (we don’t understand why??) but based on the lines we gather from the images this looks like another addition to the diecast open series.  Model is shown in pre-production form so hopefully, the half-baked window will be reconsidered for fully closed and the rear offset slightly off, full the wheel well!  This model is scheduled to be released in summer 2019.  We can’t wait to get our hands on one!

Nice representation of the outgoing V8 Ferrari. The price’d better not exceed 300 euros though as that’s what they wanted for the F12 TDF.

  2. Andrew says:

Glad I saw this I was looking to buy the MR version so will hold out. Love the Pista

  3. Sac says:

    Steerable wheels, do you reckon?

  4. NERO says:

Looks very desirable, maybe my first BBR, but I do not know how to pre-order it in Spain…

    Anyone could help?

    • Tomcatters says:

You might be able to preorder it via rare118modelcars on Facebook. I believe they’re based in Portugal and get most models you wouldn’t find anywhere else in Europe.
Downside is they sell via Facebook only, so you’ll need an account there.

  5. Saul Guerrero says:

Is this supposed to be more expensive than the closed resin model?

  6. MekTheCollector says:

Ouch! I can imagine how beautiful the final product will look; however, I’m afraid they’re going to further increase their prices due to the fact that it is opening resin (FrontiArt price range). The price of the Diecast F12 TDF was barely justifiable! I’m not sure about other collectors, but if it’s going to cost anything more than their F12 TDF, I’ll pass on this one ☹️. I’d rather go spend my money on a CMC.

P.S. I know that CMC is a different ball game than BBR, I mentioned CMC as I collect European classics and modern super/hyper cars too.

  7. Karsten says:

Resin? That´s a major disappointment. I was hoping for a Pista Piloti Ferrari version. Any word on the La Ferrari yet?

  8. Vitaliy D says:

I hope that the new BBR’s LaFerrari will be a die-cast one.
If not… well, in such case there will be no 1:18 LaFerrari in my collection.
Until, for example, Almost Real decides to produce one.

  9. AaronC3 says:

I mainly buy 1/12 scale. If they make opening resin I will buy it. I am buying am SLR that is resin and opens from a new company that makes it any color I want. It’s about $655.00 I might flip it on eBay at $1,000

  10. Kevin says:

That model will cost 845 USD… I wouldnt pay more that 350!
