It’s FINALLY HERE, Almost Real Pagaini Zonda F (UPDATE)

** UPDATE ** Pre-order your example right now at site sponsor www.RacingHeroes.com.  The best online retailer for Almost Real scale models!

Well, good things come to those who wait, the Almost Real 1:18, diecast metal, Pagani Zonda F is finally here.  Labelled under the new AR+, the team officially released production photos of the new supercar in its assortment today, and one much anticipated by fans of the brand and Pagani collectors alike.

Our team has received a sample for review, as some of you probably saw the photo our extended media team posted on Facebook and Instagram last week.  We’re just fishing that up!  In short, we can tell you the model is brilliant, we love it!  Definitely a contender for 2021 Model of the Year, and this year has been quite dreary, to say the least.  This example will hit shelves in October.  Retail, and it doesn’t come cheap, $398 US.

Ouch at $450.00 out the door post tax and shipping in CA. Very much looking forward to your complete review, And other color options as well.

    • DS Team says:

Yes, however, the dealer may choose to sell for less.

First impression the model is GREAT! Cheaper than BBR’s sealed and resin efforts too. Additional colours are coming, and variants too!

    • Ollie says:

There was no shortage of buyers willing to pay around US$800 for Peako’s sealed resin Zondas, many of which came with various QC issues like crooked wings, glue spots, etc. I agree the price for this is high, but it offers a lot more than the Peako equivalents did, at nearly half the price of the Peako.

  2. . says:

What would be the defining feature of a normal Almost Real from Almost Real+? As much as I love it the price is too expensive they should’ve branded it as BBR if they wanted to charge 400USD for it imho

  3. ATEOTD says:

I can’t believe I’m saying after waiting so long, but I may wait for the other colors. I liked the other Zonda Fs they showed in the AR+ reveal last year. I liked them more than this one with all the decals on the side, which I believe was some sort of press car. But we’ll see. The temptation could be too great.

  4. Paolo says:

I believe the quality of LCD will be better and the price will be much lower than AR+.

  5. Aleksander says:

For Europe that means 500 euros or more. Well…..

  6. James says:

Other colours would include matte black I suppose. Could red be a possibility?

  7. Caton Lai says:

They were so close to perfect, but had to ruin it with all those decals.

Oh well, hopefully the other variants will come with a cleaner paint job.

    • DS Team says:

Different strokes for different folks, we kinda like them!

    • ATEOTD says:

Yeah, it’s a model of the press/demo car that is now on display at the Pagani factory. It must be a pretty important car tovthem. I liked the black over red and metallic gray versions shown at the AR+ reveal. But again, that could change. The Almost Real website has them for sale right now, and says the first early batch will ship in late September. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t tempted to pull the trigger.

  8. H.S. says:

400+ Seems very steep! Have to see if there’s any additional colour variants such as full carbon or white or yellow. Considering we have LCD on the scene now bringing high quality, quick turn around, at a almost half the price, will the AR be worth it in the end?

  9. Mike Wiseman says:

I planned on waiting for the tricolor anyway. It would be awesome if they make the zonda r in blue carbon. That is one of the most beautiful cars ever. Autoarts color and finish is awful in my opinion compared to the 1:1. Plus the current asking price for the Autoart makes almost real seem like a steal.

  10. Ollie says:

Did anyone notice it has Michelin stickers on the side and yet it’s fitted with Pirelli tyres? :-)

  11. Scenic says:

There will be one in carbon black. Confirmed with AR.

  12. Karsten says:

AR+ was originally announced as including some real carbon fibre box for each model. This is just cardboard with cf pattern print. So, what exactly is the “plus” in AR+? I can’t see anything extraordinary to justify the price. Curious what the review will reveal.

I’m really torn on this one… When Almost Real said they were going to make a diecast fully opening Zonda years back, they said it would come at a price of around $200. Times have of course changed, and especially with the global pandemic and pricing of materials going through the roof, I can’t say I’m too surprised with the price after pondering on it for a while. My initial reaction of course was disappointment, and felt like I was bait and switched. I am, however, extremely excited that a fully opening high end diecast Zonda finally exists! I have been waiting for one of these for YEARS and have been asking AUTOart non stop to make one. I have the AA Zonda Revolucion, and while it’s an amazing model, it still isn’t a road car and still gives off the race car vibes. That model was $325 and I gladly paid it a few years ago, so really $75 more isn’t too far fetched for this. I just really am not sure if I just get this one now, or hold off and be patient for a color scheme that I really do want. I’m just afraid these will sell out quick, and the other colors aren’t ones I like. This will be a forever model for me, as the Zonda is in my top 5 all time favorite cars. I just don’t know if I should hold out for something better, or finally add the Zonda to the collection and just sell this one once the Tricolore or Cinque comes out. Or possibly wait for the LCD Barchetta. Hard decisions

    • Atalante says:

I understand your dilemma. I preordered some time ago the AR Zonda Tricolore for the equivalent of $270 USD shipped. I have no idea when this one will be released but that makes it a bit easier for me to wait. I just hope that retailer will honor this low price that is of course not available anymore. If I didn’t have this preorder I would probably go with this silver Zonda F and sell it if the Cinque or the Tricolore looks better.

    • Paolo says:

They will produce at least 3000, otherwise the cost will not be recovered. So you don’t have to worry

  14. wackygt says:

@Atalante did you order from Torontomotorsports.com? As they emailed me to say they won’t be honouring any preorders due to AR pricing it significantly higher than promised and have therefore decided not to stock any of their models. Just an FYI to anyone that had preordered from them. This shouldn’t reflect poorly on Tomo as from a business perspective I can understand as who wants to tell their customers.that they now need to charge them alot more than they originally promised?

    • DS Team says:

TM is a great place. We know them well. They are at no fault for not living up to suggested retail with AR moving to a new suggested retail of $398 US. We’re still surprised they moved away from carrying any products, this is a great model IOHO. Look here, site sponsor to get one! >> https://www.racingheroes.com/product/pagani-zonda-f-2005-118-by-almost-real/

    • Atalante says:

@WACKYGT yes I did preorder at TM. Thanks for the heads up. They didn’t advise me but I just noticed they removed all the AR preorder they still had on their website a couple of days ago. I guess I should receive an email soon. I guess I am in the same position as the OP now.

      • wackygt says:

You’re welcome, they only emailed them because as soon as I saw the reveal on Facebook along with pricing, I emailed them to ask if they would be honouring the prices that we preordered at. The reply I got back was that they were no longer stocking them. Shame as I highly rate TM as a retailer but I guess that’s business

  15. roshan david says:

Racing Heroes is sold out. i am thankful i got my order in. i look forward to all the variations and am actively looking to sell my organs to facilitate my ZONDA lust.

  16. Aaron says:

Now lets see some JAGUARS already. F-Type SVR would be #1 desirable IMO
