LS Collectibles gives fans a first look at their painted samples of the upcoming 1:18 Mercedes-AMG. White, Green and Red seem to be the colours of choice. I don’t know about you, but we feel the model comes up somewhat short. There is just that little something missing that moves it from toyish replica to true collector piece.

I think the green one pulls it off best, but I agree, the headlights, grille and laughably huge MB badge sticker detract from the quality of the model.
I dont know….i dig it….fills a missing spot in the AMG coupe lineup. As this is just samples, improvements will hopefully come but from a design standpoint, I believe that the real car always had a somewhat gangly look anyhow….namely those headlights. As the ONLY other option for this generation was the absolutely terrible Joeff model, i am perfectly happy to get one of these. I only wish silver was one of the colors available but if that’s not the case, I’ll just buy white and redo it in Iridium Silver.
Oh blimey! For a brand trying to build a reputation this is certainly not going to win them any kudos. I echo the toy-like look along with poor execution of a number of elements, with the wheels and the clearance around them looking particularly awful.
Hope the release versions are better.
For the price they are asking definitely not helping with their reputation building… LS Collectibles seems to have released a number of underwhelming models in the past…
having said that i applaud them for bringing up one of the few missing flagship mercs in 1/18 scale. If they price it right it will definitely be on my buy list
